Heylo Everyone,

Our wedding ceremony was in afternoon and from morning different pre-wedding rituals started. There was a big Barat procession with lots of dhols and band party 🙂 This is big fat Indian wedding I told you already 😀 Here is  a glimpse from Baraat Procession.

Here is what the Groom looked like. He wore Golden and Red Sherwani with Golden Saafa. He wore few pearl garlands to give the outfit more royal look 🙂 Typical pose of the Groom coming through…

Now there is time to see the bride 🙂 I chose to wear Golden Lenhaga with Red Dupatta and matched my jewelry accordingly 🙂 My MUA did a fab job at making me look good and royal 🙂 I wanted more of natural looking makeup and she actually did that 🙂 Photographer did some mishup and I do not have a single full picture of my bridal look 🙁 But nevertheless I have few from my Cousin’s phone 🙂

Now that you have seen bride and groom, There were few customs and ceremonies as a part of wedding rituals. I am going to share few important ones here.

Kanyadaan: Bride’s parents give her hand to Groom and it means that they are giving responsibility of their daughter to the groom now and he has to love take care of her from now on with his whole heart. Here is a picture 🙂

7 Phere: This is also an important ritual. Bride and groom take rounds around fire bounded in a “Gathjod”. Gathjod is a knot between bride’s dupatta and Groom’s stole. We take 7 pheras and each has a vow attached to it.

Man & Wife: Groom fills Sindoor in Bride’s hair partition and slips Mangalsutra on her neck. They exchange garlands under Mandap and now they are “Man & Wife” 🙂
